The Founder's story
Why This Charity Matters to me
It is my own journey to the other side of secure, warm, and sustaining—experiencing homelessness and finding a way back—that inspired me to start this fund in 2014.
This charity holds profound personal meaning for me. For six months, I was homeless. What began as a single underestimated event spiraled into a series of increasingly desperate decisions, ultimately leaving me without a home.
During that time, I depended on the kindness of friends and family, staying in temporary spaces while confronting the harsh reality of my situation and the daunting challenge of rebuilding my life.
My recovery was made possible by small yet powerful acts of generosity. Friends stepped in to cover essential expenses, creating the stability I needed to begin again. These thoughtful gestures kept minor setbacks from snowballing into insurmountable barriers. Over time, with this support, I was able to reclaim my home—a testament to how even modest assistance can help someone regain control of his or her life.
The mission of this charity is to provide practical, immediate support to those at risk of homelessness, helping to prevent it before it begins. Homelessness is often the result of an inability to cover unexpected expenses, rather than a single catastrophic event. By supporting this cause, donors, like you, help create stability and hope, transforming lives just as others transformed mine.
